Depending on where you live, you may have heard of the bridge replacement works being undertaken by Highways England, on the A31, at Ringwood. Truth to say that most of the time traffic through the contraflow moves well, it does back up at times, but to most people living here it has become a way of life and we get on with it.
The Ellingham Show has worked closely with Highways England, the AA and Chevron Signs to mitigate the impact of our show on that traffic as much as possible. It will be an August Saturday with the usual holiday traffic, please allow sufficient time for your journey.
Rest assured, when you get into the showground and there will be the usual Ellingham warm welcome to greet you. Treat yourself to a cuppa, or a drink at the Hall & Woodhouse bar and enjoy a full day’s programme of activities. The Showground is open from 9am.
Please follow the directions from your area:
- Driving on the A31 from the East (New Forest & Cadnam), there will be AA signage to take you to the A338 Salisbury slip road and directed North on the roundabout towards Ibsley Bridge and Gate B
- From the New Forest South and Ringwood areas using the B3347 Christchurch Road, you will be similarly directed on the A31/A338 roundabout towards Ibsley Bridge and Gate B
- Driving on the A31 from the West (Ferndown) and Bournemouth (Spur Road) A338 you will be directed, as in previous years, onto the B3081 Verwood slip road towards Gate A. There is now a designated lane on the left taking you down the slip road. There will be Chevron manned traffic lights at Gate A to help with the flow of the traffic.
To help with the flow of traffic please avoid the A31 contraflow, see the map.
