The 75th Anniversary Ellingham Show will take place on Saturday 13th August 2022. Gates open at 9am.
We have taken the decision to ask dogs owners NOT to bring dogs to the show ground this year. This follows consultation with the RSPCA who advise people NOT to travel to the show with their dogs. Temperatures are looking to be in the 30+ degree range, so people should refrain from walking their dogs in that heat. Sadly, this means an end to all our Dog Section activities and a number of events in the main ring.
Following the Met Office announcement of an Amber weather warning in our area, we would like to reassure you that the Health and Safety of our human and animal visitors to the show is our number one priority. We are taking a number of steps to ensure the show ground is as safe as we can make it.
Together with our public health and animal welfare partners we are taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of all other animals. There are many attractions to enjoy at the show and we are revising the Main Ring timetable which will be published on Friday 12th.
Please also take seriously your own part in your own health and safety in these unusually hot conditions. For your safety and comfort we suggest you wear suitable clothing, headwear and sun cream to protect you from sunburn / heatstroke. It’s important you stay hydrated, so please bring plenty of water with you. We will, of course, have outlets where you can buy cold drinks, ice creams etc on the show ground. For fire safety, we ask you not to smoke on the show ground and in the car parks.
Rest assured, there will still be lots for you, your family and friends to see and enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you to the show!
